Thomas Law Offices Donates to America Walks

Published on Mar 2, 2022 at 2:30 pm in News.

America Walks is a nonprofit organization that aims to create “walkable, equitable, connected, and accessible” spaces in all communities across the United States, including in Kentucky, Illinois, Ohio, and Missouri. This organization challenges the notion of a car-centric world by bringing the focus back to individuals who walk either for pleasure or out of necessity. America Walks also highlights the growing demand for public spaces that are both safe and accessible for everyone regardless of mobility.

Thomas Law Offices is pleased to support America Walks through our recent donation. This is a charity we hold close to our hearts, and we believe its goal will ultimately benefit everyone in our community.

As an organization, America Walks is an advocate for grassroots advocacy, which is why it works directly with communities. The resources it provides individuals allow leaders to successfully promote change within their own communities. America Walks knows that change is often most effective when it comes from community members.

We also believe that America Walks plays a pivotal role in tackling difficult challenges for safe, walkable communities, like providing safe lighting while simultaneously fighting light pollution. Our donation will also go toward America Walks’ dedication to mobility justice. Mobility justice is rooted in the social justice movement, and the goal is to do more than just create safe, walkable areas. It takes into account the unique challenges that many people face when trying to safely exist on the streets because of their “race, religion, background, or physical ability.”

America Walks’ vision is an America with attractive and safe public spaces in all communities by 2030. These communities will support “health, economic vitality, environmental sustainability, and social equity.”

At Thomas Law Offices, we believe that everyone deserves safe, accessible outdoor spaces in which to travel or enjoy leisure time. We also know how important these spaces are to reducing pedestrian accidents and related injuries. Our personal injury attorneys work tirelessly to advocate for pedestrians who have been harmed while trying to safely cross the street or travel on cracked sidewalks. If you were injured as a pedestrian, contact the compassionate and knowledgeable lawyers at Thomas Law Offices for a free case evaluation.
