Overview
Lindsy Lopez serves as Thomas Law Offices’ General Counsel and has established the firm’s Des Moines, Iowa, office, where she relocated to be closer to family. Lindsy attended Iowa State University, earning a double major in Political Science/International Studies and a minor in music, before graduating from the University of Iowa College of Law in 2009. During law school, she served as the Senior Managing Editor of the Iowa Law Review and as a clerk with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Minnesota. Ms. Lopez graduated with honors and was a recipient of the Boyd Service Award for her commitment to public service during law school.
After graduation, Ms. Lopez joined a small law firm in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Her focus was civil litigation, with specialization in large loss and catastrophe litigation, including fires and explosions, product liability, property and casualty litigation, and complex insurance coverage disputes.
In 2013, Ms. Lopez relocated to Kentucky, was admitted to the Kentucky bar, and joined Thomas Law Offices in April of 2013 as an associate. After practicing in Kentucky for nearly 10 years, Ms. Lopez relocated to her home state of Iowa in 2022, where she continues to practice civil litigation, focusing on personal injury. Lindsy is also a member of the American Association for Justice (AAJ) and the Iowa Association for Justice (IAJ).
When Lindsy is not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Jose, and their two sons..
