James Nicholas “Nick” Thompson was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, and is a 2006 graduate of St. Xavier High School. He attended Centre College in Danville, Kentucky, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and swam competitively on the Colonel’s Swimming and Diving Team. Mr. Thompson received his J.D., graduating magna cum laude, from the Northern Kentucky University Salmon P. Chase College of Law in 2021.

Mr. Thompson began his legal career in 2015, working as a paralegal for a well-respected Louisville personal injury law firm. Shortly after learning the foundations of the American legal system, Mr. Thompson enrolled in law school with the goal of helping victims of negligence as an attorney. Mr. Thompson attended law school part-time in night classes while continuing to support his family and gain practical experience as a full-time working paralegal. His primary areas of practice include civil litigation of nursing abuse and neglect, medical malpractice, products liability, premises liability, and motor vehicle and trucking accidents.

In his free time, Mr. Thompson enjoys cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats and Nashville Predators, exploring different cultures and regional cuisines with his wife, Kat, and golfing with his friends and family.

Tad Thomas

Managing Partner

Tad Thomas has dedicated his practice to representing plaintiffs in various types of civil litigation, including personal injury, business litigation, class actions, and multi-district litigation.

After graduating with his law degree in 2000 from Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University, Mr. Thomas immediately opened his own private practice and began representing injury victims.

In 2011, Thomas Law Offices was established in Louisville, Kentucky. Over the past decade, Mr. Thomas has expanded his firm and now has offices in three additional locations: Cincinnati, Ohio, Columbia, Missouri, and Chicago, Illinois. He is also a frequent lecturer on topics like trial skills and ethics and technology.
