Thomas Law Offices Attorneys Named Super Lawyers

Published on Jan 5, 2022 at 3:53 pm in News.

Thomas Law Offices is honored to recognize the outstanding achievements of three of our own attorneys: John Abaray, Leslie Pescia, and Tad Thomas. Both John Abaray and Tad Thomas are distinguished as this year’s Super Lawyers, and Leslie Pescia was the recipient of the 2021 Rising Star award given by the Super Lawyer organization. This year, Tad Thomas was awarded the Super Lawyer title for the 10th consecutive year. He represents our law firm in an elite group of the top 50 lawyers in the state—only 15 of which are plaintiff lawyers like Mr. Thomas. The Super Lawyers list recognizes no more than 5% of attorneys in each state, and Rising Stars star awards are given to no more than 2.5% of lawyers in each state.

Each year, Super Lawyers identifies and compiles the names and profiles of exceptional lawyers who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. Because lawyers cannot nominate themselves to be included on the list of Super Lawyers—and are prohibited from campaigning—being awarded this prestigious honor is a testament to the reputation and respect each recipient has earned among their peers and the legal community as a whole.

Candidates are evaluated anew each year, and must successfully pass a rigorous, multi-level selection process to be considered. The small percentage of attorneys who are named Super Lawyers are featured in Super Lawyers Magazine. In all 50 states and Washington D.C., a Super Lawyers list showcasing the most outstanding attorneys of the year in that state is published, circulated, and made available online in Super Lawyers Digital Magazine.

The Super Lawyers Selection Process

Before an attorney can be considered for the annual Super Lawyers or Rising Stars list, they must undergo a selection process comprised of a series of peer nominations, evaluations, and independent research. An attorney’s name may enter the candidate pool via a managing partner survey, a peer nomination, third party feedback, or by being identified by the Super Lawyers research team.

Each nominee is then the subject of independent research and assessed based on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement. These indicators include the attorney’s record of verdicts and settlements, honors and awards, representative clients, transactions, special licenses and certifications, position within their law firm, pro bono and community service, Bar and other professional activity, scholarly lectures and writings, education and employment background, experience, and any other relevant outstanding achievements.

After independent research and assessment in completed, candidates will be evaluated by members of the Super Lawyers Blue Ribbon Panel, and then ultimately chosen in a final selection round. Having one’s name included on an annual list of Super Lawyers does not guarantee a place on the following year’s list. Super Lawyers strives to create a credible, comprehensive, and diverse list of names that represents only the top lawyers in their field. It is the object of Super Lawyers that this list be used as a resource for attorneys and potential clients searching for an outstanding, reputable, and highly qualified attorney.

At Thomas Law Offices, we are extremely proud of the hard work our attorneys have devoted to their profession, and we are honored that their names are being recognized on some of the most prestigious lists in the nation. It is our hope that we never become complacent in our roles as legal representatives, and that we continually reach for higher goals—becoming what we need to be to successfully advocate for each and every client we serve.
