Thomas Law Offices is proud to announce that Mike Campbell has been named a 2021 Super Lawyers’ Rising Star in Missouri and Kansas.
Super Lawyers is a rating service that highlights lawyers from more than 70 practice areas. Those chosen for recognition have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.
Selection is a four-phase process. The first phase is nominations. Lawyers are not allowed to nominate themselves, and campaigning is prohibited. Lawyers can get nominated by managing a partner survey, being nominated by peers, receiving third-party feedback, or being identified by the Super Lawyers research team.
After nominations, the second phase is independent research. Super Lawyers evaluates the following 12 indicators of professional achievement and peer recognition:
- Verdicts/Settlements
- Transactions
- Representative clients
- Experience
- Honors/Awards
- Special licenses/certifications
- Position within a law firm
- Bar and/or professional activity
- Pro bono and community service
- Scholarly lectures/writings
- Education/employment backgrounds
- Other outstanding achievements
It’s important to note that those indicators are not treated equally. Some have higher point values than others.
The third phase is peer evaluation. Candidates who received the highest point totals from phases one and two serve on what’s called the Blue Ribbon Panel. Members on the panel evaluate other candidates within their primary practice area.
Finally, the fourth phase is the final selection. Five percent of attorneys are selected to Super Lawyers, and only 2.5 percent of attorneys are selected at Rising Stars. Candidates are only eligible for Rising Stars if they are 40 or younger or have been in practice for ten years or less.
The Super Lawyers selection process creates a credible, comprehensive list of outstanding attorneys across the country. Other attorneys and potential law firm clients can use the list to search for the right legal counsel for their needs.
