Family Plans Memorial after Bicycle Accident Claims Man’s Life

A bicyclist who lost his life in a fatal KY traffic accident on Russell Cave Road in Lexington will soon have a memorial placed in the area by his family, according to a news report from Lex18.

According to investigators, the 53-year-old man lost his life when he was struck by an SUV while riding his bike along the road. His family plans to remember him by installing a “Ghost Bike” memorial at the spot where he lost his life. Also participating in the Ghost Bike memorial is local bicycling group Broke Spoke, which is a volunteer organization that helps people recovering from addiction by focusing their energies on bicycling as a constructive and fun hobby.
