Louisville School Bus Accident Injures Five

Published on May 2, 2011 at 12:25 pm in Auto Accident.

A Jefferson County Public Schools bus and a car collided in Louisville recently, injuring several people, according to a recent news report from NBC affiliate Lex18. The bus was traveling along the Watterson Expressway when the car swerved into the bus’s lane, which caused the crash. Several students were riding the bus at the time.

The injured included the driver of the bus and two of the children who were passengers aboard the school bus. The driver of the car that collided with the bus and the car’s passenger were also injured. The injured adults were taken to Suburban Hospital, which has not yet commented on their injuries or condition. Rescue workers also took two children to Kosair Children’s Hospital to be treated, but their injuries were minor, according to the schools’ transportation director. The children were treated and released to their parents.

School bus drivers usually take their commitment to safety seriously, and school buses are involved in far fewer accidents each year than passenger vehicles are. Unfortunately, every Louisville personal injury attorney is aware that school bus drivers cannot always prevent passengers from being injured when another driver’s negligence or recklessness causes a crash.
