Brad was born in Lewiston, New York and grew up in Ledbetter, Kentucky. He considers himself a Kentuckian and the Bluegrass State his home. After graduating from Murray State University in 1998, Brad worked in various positions related to his degree in biology and chemistry. During his days working as a microbiologist for the Commonwealth of Kentucky, there was a strong desire to pursue a degree in law. While in law school, Brad also juggled other activities including selling men’s shoes, delivering food orders for a family Chinese restaurant, being a drummer in a cover band, and serving as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Natural Resources and Environmental Law. Brad accomplished his goal in graduating from the University of Kentucky College of Law in October of 2005. His devotion to the practice of law allows him to fight for the rights of people that have been injured by the harmful conduct of others.
As a young attorney he served as law clerk to Kentucky Supreme Court Justice Will T. Scott. This opportunity moved him to Pikeville, where Justice Scott opened his world to the beauty of the Appalachian mountains, the small town charm, and the kindness of its people. The knowledge attained through drafting opinions and being privileged to observe the court system at the highest level of Kentucky continues to guide him. After Brad’s clerkship, he began his life’s work in serving the good people of the Commonwealth with a prominent east Kentucky firm. While there he was involved in a case against a large pharmaceutical company that was was alleged responsible for the abuse and diversion of a highly addictive drug, resulting in eastern Kentucky’s then-prevalent drug epidemic. Brad is confident to take any case to trial and is a successful litigator. His primary practice areas are personal injury, automobile and trucking accidents, wrongful death and premises liability cases, as well as product liability. His background in biology and chemistry and prior experience working in a hospital also deepens his knowledge in medical malpractice and nursing home negligence.
Brad recently reached another professional pinnacle and was given the good fortune of joining Thomas Law Offices in November 2015. A highly regarded attorney, Tad Thomas has put together a firm of talented lawyers and equally superior legal staff who care about their people like family and value the trust their clients place in them.
When he’s not fighting for the rights of the injured, Brad enjoys spending time with family and friends. His interests are many and include horology, hunting, fishing, the occasional opera, music concerts, and Kentucky Basketball.
